Wall Insulation
Fiberglass insulation, stapled into wall cavities, has been in use for many years. However, spray foam insulation has now become the preferred application for homeowners who want a tight, durable seal against air and moisture filtration.
But there’s even more good news about the use of spray foam insulation:
- Saves on energy bills
- Strengthens the building structure
- Acts as a sound barrier/li>
- Keeps pollen and pollutants out
Installation of wall insulation depends on the situation. If the home is in the middle of renovations and the walls are open, we can very quickly and easily spray the insulation directly in the open walls between studs. If the drywall needs to stay up, we can drill holes through which we can spray the insulation through hoses into the holes, drilled either on the inside, or in some cases, from the outside*. If you are replacing siding, we can also install the insulation from the outside into the open wall cavities, which would then be covered with house wrap and the new siding.
Cellulose Wallspray
Cellulose wallspray is a great option for walls, it's spray applied and gives a much better Airseal then a fiberglass batt. We use Applegate Stabilized Cellulose, which is sprayed in under high pressure with adhesive which makes for a well insulated wall.
*drilled holes would need to be patched and finished by a professional drywall contractor.
